99mTc-P137 is a technetium-99m labeled radiopharmaceutical designed for the diagnostic imaging of prostate cancer via Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT). The agent is a molecular probe that specifically targets the Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), a transmembrane protein that is highly overexpressed in prostate malignant tissues compared to normal tissues. By binding to PSMA, 99mTc-P137 allows for the visualization of primary prostate tumors and metastatic lesions. This tracer is being investigated as a potentially more accessible and cost-effective alternative to PET-based PSMA tracers (such as 68Ga-PSMA-11) due to the widespread availability of Technetium-99m generators and SPECT/CT equipment in clinical settings.
