Drug intelligence / Profile preview
99mTc-PGPIKVAV is a technetium-99m radiolabeled laminin-derived peptide (PGPIKVAV) formulated in a sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) hydrogel. It is developed as a single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging probe for the non-invasive assessment of wound healing severity and progress. The PGPIKVAV peptide mimics laminin, a structural component of the basement membrane, and interacts with integrin receptors (such as α3β1, αvβ3, and α5β1) and CXCR2 on cell surfaces to promote cell migration, proliferation, differentiation, and angiogenesis. The radiolabeled hydrogel remains localized at the topical wound site for 12 to 24 hours, allowing for SPECT imaging of the wound healing process.
