Drug intelligence / Profile preview
99mTc-PR1A3 is a radiopharmaceutical composed of the murine monoclonal antibody PR1A3, which targets a normal colonic columnar cell surface antigen, labeled with technetium-99m (99mTc), a widely used gamma-emitting radionuclide. The primary application of 99mTc-PR1A3 is in radioimmunoscintigraphy for imaging colorectal cancer. The antibody specifically binds to carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) expressed on colorectal carcinoma cells, allowing for targeted imaging due to high tumor-to-mucosa uptake ratios. This agent enables rapid and routine nuclear medicine studies for the detection and management of colorectal cancer[1][5]. Mechanistically, it combines the specificity of monoclonal antibody targeting with the diagnostic capabilities of radiolabeled imaging agents.
