Drug intelligence / Profile preview
99mTc-RWY is an experimental radiopharmaceutical composed of the RWY peptide labeled with the radionuclide technetium-99m. The RWY peptide targets integrin α6, a protein overexpressed in various tumors. By binding to integrin α6, 99mTc-RWY enables targeted imaging of tumors using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Preclinical studies and early clinical imaging in breast cancer patients have demonstrated its ability to clearly visualize tumor lesions. This agent is under investigation primarily for cancer imaging applications, including colorectal and breast cancers[8].
