Drug intelligence / Profile preview
9F8 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Abologix Sàrl that targets the leptin receptor (ObR, also known as LEPR). The antibody was engineered through chimerization and humanization processes, specifically CDR grafting, to block the interaction between leptin and its receptor. Leptin is a pro-inflammatory adipose-tissue derived cytokine-like hormone that plays a critical role in both innate and adaptive immune responses. Elevated serum leptin levels, often found in obese individuals, have been implicated in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. By antagonizing the leptin receptor, 9F8 is designed to modulate these immune responses and serve as a therapeutic approach for treating autoimmune diseases.
