Drug intelligence / Profile preview
9MW0813 is a recombinant human vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-antibody fusion protein developed as an intravitreal injection for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME). It acts as a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor by binding VEGF and preventing its interaction with receptors, thereby reducing abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the retina. The drug is being developed by Mabwell (Shanghai) Bioscience and is currently in Phase III clinical trials comparing its efficacy and safety to aflibercept (EYLEA®), a standard treatment for DME. The primary administration route is intravitreal injection. It has not yet received regulatory approval.
