Drug intelligence / Profile preview
9MW5211 is a highly specific, depleting monoclonal antibody developed by Mabwell (Shanghai) Bioscience Co., Ltd. for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and multiple sclerosis (MS). The antibody is designed to target a specific molecule expressed on the surface of pathogenic immune cells that serves as a biomarker of their abnormal activation. By selectively recognizing and depleting these pathogenic cells, 9MW5211 aims to interrupt the immune cascade responsible for chronic inflammation. As of May 2026, the drug has received FDA clearance for clinical trials in IBD and is notably the first clinical-stage candidate globally to target this specific biological marker.
