Overview

Aβ1-6-CMVTT is an experimental **active immunotherapy vaccine** for Alzheimer's disease that displays the N-terminal amyloid-beta epitope Aβ1-6 on a **cucumber mosaic virus-derived virus-like particle** containing a **tetanus toxoid universal T-helper epitope**. The design aims to induce a polyclonal anti-amyloid-beta antibody response against aggregated or deposited Aβ while minimizing autoreactive Aβ-specific T-cell activation by restricting the displayed self-antigen to the short Aβ1-6 B-cell epitope. In preclinical work, this CMVTT VLP platform generated strong and selective antibody responses, including in older mice, and sera recognized Alzheimer plaque material in brain sections. The program appears to be a preclinical or platform-stage vaccine concept associated with the CMVTT or CuMVTT VLP technology rather than a clinically established product.
