Overview

A-2 is a novel chemical compound synthesized as a derivative of apocynin and tandospirone. It functions as an antioxidant by decreasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) concentrations and reversing decreases in glutathione levels. Preclinical studies in rats have shown that A-2 exhibits anti-dopaminergic effects, ameliorating methamphetamine-induced hyperlocomotion in a model of schizophrenia, suggesting its potential as an antipsychotic agent.
