A-3 is a novel small molecule synthesized as a derivative of apocynin and tandospirone. It has demonstrated antioxidant properties by decreasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) concentrations in vitro and reversing decreases in glutathione levels in the medial prefrontal cortex of rats. Furthermore, A-3 exhibits anti-dopaminergic effects, as evidenced by its ability to ameliorate methamphetamine-induced hyperlocomotion in an animal model of schizophrenia, suggesting potential for alleviating psychotic symptoms.
