Overview

a-IDCT is an allogeneic cell therapy candidate developed by DiscGenics for the treatment of adjacent-segment disc disease (ASDD). It is a specialized application of the company's Injectable Disc Cell Therapy (IDCT) platform, which utilizes "Discogenic Cells." These are live, allogeneic disc progenitor cells derived from the intervertebral disc tissue of adult organ donors, which are then enriched and expanded through a proprietary manufacturing process. The therapy is designed to be delivered as a single intradiscal injection to the affected spinal segment. Its mechanism of action involves the regeneration of the degenerated disc tissue, aiming to restore disc structure and volume while reducing pain and disability. a-IDCT is part of a broader pipeline of disc-regenerative therapies that includes rebonuputemcel (IDCT) for lumbar disc degeneration.
