Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A1801 ADC is a preclinical-stage antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Protheragen. It targets Glycoprotein non-metastatic melanoma protein B (GPNMB), a transmembrane protein that is highly expressed in several types of cancer, including breast cancer and melanoma, but has limited expression in normal tissues. The drug is designed to bind to GPNMB on the surface of tumor cells, leading to internalization and the subsequent release of a cytotoxic payload to induce cell death. This targeted approach aims to maximize anti-tumor activity while minimizing off-target effects.
