Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A20 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of the EphB2 receptor. It is being investigated as a potential therapeutic agent for chronic kidney disease (CKD). In a mouse model of CKD induced by deoxycorticosterone-acetate-salt (DOCA) and angiotensin II (AII) infusion, A20 demonstrated renal protective effects, including arresting the progression of albuminuria, without impacting blood pressure. Its mechanism involves targeting EphB2 signaling, which is implicated in albuminuria, inflammation, oxidative stress, and fibrosis in kidney injury.
