Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A5 is a cannabis-derived pharmaceutical product developed by Breath of Life (BOL) Pharma, consisting of a standardized plant extract containing a specific ratio of cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC/dronabinol). Formulated for sublingual administration as either medicated drops or tablets, A5 is designed to leverage the synergistic effects of cannabinoids to treat complex neurological and inflammatory conditions. Its primary clinical development has focused on managing behavioral symptoms in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and alleviating neuropathic pain. The drug's mechanism of action involves the modulation of the endocannabinoid system through interaction with CB1 and CB2 receptors, as well as non-cannabinoid targets such as the 5-HT1A receptor and GPR55.
