AA2600

AA2600 is an experimental testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) developed by Auxilium Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of hypogonadism and testosterone deficiency in men. It is formulated as an oral transmucosal film designed to deliver testosterone directly through the oral mucosa, which allows for rapid absorption into the systemic circulation and avoids first-pass metabolism in the liver. As an agonist of the androgen receptor, AA2600 aims to restore physiological testosterone levels with potentially lower dosing and faster onset compared to traditional transdermal gels or patches. The drug reached Phase III clinical development, but further progression was not reported following the acquisition of Auxilium by Endo International in 2015.
