Overview

aAKDS-M is Russia's first combined diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTP) vaccine specifically developed for adults. Created by NPO Microgen (a subsidiary of Nacimbio under Rostec), the vaccine contains reduced amounts of diphtheria and tetanus toxoids along with an acellular pertussis component (Tdap). It is indicated for active immunization and booster vaccination in individuals aged 18 to 60 years. The vaccine works by inducing the production of protective antibodies against the toxins produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae* and *Clostridium tetani*, as well as antigens from *Bordetella pertussis*. Clinical trials involving 436 volunteers demonstrated high safety, excellent tolerability, and the development of protective antibody titers, leading to its approval under EAEU regulations.
