Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AAV-TERT-03 is an adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy candidate under development by Telomere Therapeutics. It is designed to deliver a functional copy of the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) gene to adult tissues. The therapeutic objective is to restore or maintain telomerase activity, thereby counteracting telomere shortening, a process linked to cellular senescence and various degenerative diseases. While the company's lead program, AAV-TERT-01, is focused on Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), the specific target indication for AAV-TERT-03 has not yet been disclosed. The program is currently in the preclinical proof-of-concept stage of development.
