Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AAV9-based gene therapy construct is an investigational adeno-associated virus serotype 9 (AAV9) gene therapy candidate being developed by the Medical University of South Carolina for the treatment of cervical dysplasia and HPV-positive cervical cancer. The therapy utilizes a series of rationally designed synthetic AAV transgene promoters that are selectively activated in HPV-positive cervical cancer cells by leveraging dysregulated E2F transcription factor activity. This tumor-specific promoter system is designed to deliver therapeutic payloads specifically to cervical cancer cells while minimizing expression in normal epithelial tissues.
