Overview

AAVLP-SIINFEKL is an experimental cancer vaccine candidate that utilizes adeno-associated virus-like particles (AAVLPs) as a delivery platform for the ovalbumin-derived model antigen SIINFEKL. Developed by researchers at NCT Heidelberg, the vaccine is engineered to display the antigen on the capsid surface, facilitating the induction of potent CD8+ cytotoxic T cell responses. Preclinical studies in murine models have demonstrated that subcutaneous administration of AAVLP-SIINFEKL, particularly when adjuvanted with Montanide ISA 51 VG, can lead to the complete rejection of SIINFEKL-expressing B16F10 melanoma tumors. The vaccine's efficacy is notably dependent on the presence of CD4+ T cells, leveraging inherent T helper epitopes within the AAVLP capsid sequence to provide necessary immune stimulation.
