AB-1 (Algen Biotechnologies)

AB-1 is a preclinical precision oncology program being developed by Algen Biotechnologies for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The program utilizes the company's proprietary AlgenCRISPR and AlgenBrain platforms, which integrate CRISPR gene-editing technology with artificial intelligence to identify and target novel RNA components of well-known oncogenic pathways, such as MYC, RAS, and MYCN. Unlike traditional therapies that target proteins, AB-1 focuses on the RNA regulatory elements driving these "tough to target" pathways. Algen Biotechnologies is a San Francisco-based company that spun out of Nobel Laureate Jennifer Doudna's CRISPR laboratory at UC Berkeley.
