Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AB-110 + unmanipulated umbilical cord blood is a combination cell therapy regimen developed by Angiocrine Bioscience for the treatment of high-risk hematologic malignancies. AB-110 consists of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) that have been expanded ex vivo using Angiocrine's proprietary E-CEL (Engineered Colony-forming Endothelial Cells) technology. This technology utilizes human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) genetically modified with the adenovirus E4ORF1 gene, which allows the cells to survive and function as a supportive vascular niche without exogenous growth factors. In clinical practice, the expanded AB-110 product is co-infused with a standard, unmanipulated umbilical cord blood unit. The expanded cells in AB-110 are designed to provide rapid, short-term hematopoietic recovery (neutrophils and platelets), while the unmanipulated unit ensures long-term engraftment and immune reconstitution.
