Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**AB-INTIMUS (also known as GYNTIMA)** is a probiotic medical device developed by Ab Biotics S.A. containing the strain **Lactobacillus plantarum KABP™ 061 (CECT 7504)** or **L. plantarum I1001**, delivered as vaginal tablets. It restores vaginal microbiota balance after infections such as bacterial vaginosis or candidiasis by promoting healthy lactobacilli growth, reducing pathogens like *Gardnerella vaginalis* and *Candida* spp., lowering vaginal pH, and preventing relapses while supporting antibiotic therapy. Clinical evidence from trials demonstrates its ability to survive in inflamed vaginal mucosa, achieve eubiosis maintenance up to 30 days post-treatment via oral or vaginal administration, and improve symptoms via Nugent score and Amsel criteria.[1][4][7][9]
