AB-PCBP-1 is a novel monoclonal antibody of the IgG1 (kappa) isotype developed by Alper Biotech. It specifically targets poly(rC)-binding protein 1 (PCBP-1), a nucleic-acid-binding protein that shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm and is implicated in cancer progression, metastasis, and chemoresistance. AB-PCBP-1 was generated using hybridoma technology with native protein as the immunogen. It has demonstrated high affinity and specificity for both native and denatured human PCBP-1 in various assays, including ELISA, immunohistochemistry (IHC), western blot, and flow cytometry. The antibody is primarily being investigated as a diagnostic biomarker and potential therapeutic agent for breast cancer, where elevated levels of soluble PCBP-1 in plasma and distinct tissue expression patterns correlate with metastatic disease and specific histological subtypes.
