AB001 oral capsule

The AB001 oral capsule is a formulation developed by Frontier Biotechnologies Inc. containing an undisclosed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It was primarily developed as a clinical comparator for AB001, a third-generation topical patch intended for the treatment of chronic low back pain. In Phase 1 clinical trials, the oral capsule was used to evaluate the systemic exposure and bioavailability of the active ingredient, allowing for a direct comparison between oral and topical delivery routes. As an NSAID, the drug's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins.
