Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AB004 (also known as AB-004) is a preclinical-stage bispecific fusion protein trap developed by AKSO Biotechnology. It is designed to simultaneously target and neutralize the signaling of a proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL), B-cell activating factor (BAFF), and interleukin-11 (IL-11). By blocking these pathways, AB004 aims to reduce both immune-mediated inflammatory responses and fibrotic processes. The therapeutic candidate is currently undergoing lead optimization for the potential treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD), nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
