Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AB100 is a preclinical-stage small molecule antiviral candidate being developed by Aromics for the treatment of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) infections. The compound was identified through Aromics' proprietary drug discovery platform, which focuses on identifying small molecules that modulate gene expression by targeting RNA or RNA-protein interactions. AB100 has demonstrated in vitro proof-of-concept (PoC) by inhibiting viral replication. It is intended to address the need for new therapeutic options for HSV-1 and HSV-2, particularly in cases of resistance to standard nucleoside analogs like acyclovir.
