Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AB101 is a super-long-acting basal insulin developed for the treatment of diabetes. Its development was initiated by AntriaBio, which acquired the foundational sustained-release injectable formulation technology from the bankrupt PR Pharmaceuticals. Subsequently, Rezolute continued the development of AB101. The drug is designed to provide prolonged insulin action by utilizing a proprietary microsphere platform and controlled delivery technology. Rezolute later sought to out-license AB101 following the completion of its Phase 1 study, driven by a strategic decision to reallocate resources. pH Pharma has been granted a conditional exclusive license to manufacture and commercialize AB101 in several Asian countries.
