Overview

AB102 is an investigational small molecule antagonist of the Mas-related G protein-coupled receptor X2 (MRGPRX2), currently being developed by Arcus Biosciences. MRGPRX2 is a G protein-coupled receptor predominantly expressed on mast cells and is a key mediator of pseudo-allergic reactions and neurogenic inflammation through non-IgE-dependent degranulation. By selectively blocking MRGPRX2, AB102 is designed to inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells, offering a potential therapeutic approach for mast cell-mediated diseases such as chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), atopic dermatitis, and other pruritic conditions. The program is part of a broader collaboration with Gilead Sciences, which retains a time-limited option to license the candidate. AB102 is currently in early-stage clinical development.
