Overview

AB181 is a rodent-specific monoclonal antibody that acts as a potent and selective full antagonist of the rat pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide type 1 (PAC1) receptor. Developed as a research tool, it is designed to inhibit PAC1 receptor-mediated pathways and has shown efficacy in preclinical models of trigeminal nociceptive activity related to primary headache disorders such as cluster headache and migraine. AB181 provides near-maximum receptor coverage at certain dosages and does not cross the blood–brain barrier in significant concentrations, suggesting a peripheral mode of action for the modulation of pain[9].
