ABA001

ABA001 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic being developed for the treatment of mild hypertension. It is designed to target and silence the expression of angiotensinogen (AGT) in the liver, which is the primary source of circulating AGT and the sole precursor of all angiotensin peptides in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). By utilizing RNA interference (RNAi) to reduce AGT levels, ABA001 aims to provide a long-lasting reduction in blood pressure with infrequent dosing. The drug is developed through a collaboration between Beijing Anlong Bio, Beijing Alna Technology, and Beijing Sun-Novo Pharmaceutical Research. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic effects in adults with mild hypertension.
