abacavir + lamivudine + lopinavir + ritonavir

**Abacavir + lamivudine + lopinavir + ritonavir** is a paediatric, strawberry-flavoured, heat-stable oral fixed-dose antiretroviral combination for treatment of HIV-1 infection. It combines the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors abacavir and lamivudine with lopinavir, an HIV-1 protease inhibitor, and ritonavir, which both inhibits HIV protease and pharmacokinetically boosts lopinavir by inhibiting CYP3A-mediated metabolism. The formulation was developed by Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative and Cipla as granules contained in capsules for infants and young children who cannot swallow tablets.
