Overview
**Abaloparatide-TD** is an investigational transdermal patch formulation of abaloparatide, a synthetic 34-amino acid analog of parathyroid hormone-related protein [PTHrP(1-34)], developed by Radius Health for the potential treatment of postmenopausal women with osteoporosis. Unlike the approved subcutaneous Tymlos injection, this transdermal delivery aims to provide a needle-free alternative with similar osteoanabolic effects, selectively activating the parathyroid hormone 1 receptor (PTH1R) in its RG conformation to preferentially stimulate bone formation over resorption via transient cAMP signaling, increasing bone mineral density at vertebral and nonvertebral sites while minimizing hypercalcemia risk.[1]
