Overview

ABBV-47D11 is a fully human neutralizing monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of COVID-19. It targets a mutationally conserved hydrophobic pocket on the spike protein of SARS-CoV‑2, distal to the ACE2 binding site, thereby inhibiting viral entry into host cells. The drug has demonstrated potential antiviral activity in preclinical studies against both SARS-CoV‑2 and SARS-CoV‑1. In Phase 1 clinical trials, ABBV‑47D11 was administered as an intravenous infusion to adults with mild to moderate COVID‑19 and showed dose-proportional pharmacokinetics and was generally safe and well tolerated up to doses of 2400 mg. The primary indication under investigation is COVID‑19[1][3][5][6].
