ABBV-525 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1 (MALT1), developed by AbbVie. It is designed to target and inhibit MALT1, a key component in the B-cell receptor signaling pathway that is crucial for the survival and proliferation of malignant B cells. By inhibiting MALT1, ABBV-525 disrupts downstream signaling pathways such as NF-κB, leading to immunomodulating and antineoplastic effects. ABBV-525 is currently being investigated as a monotherapy in phase 1 clinical trials for relapsed or refractory B-cell malignancies, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), particularly in patients who have failed or are resistant to standard therapies like BTK inhibitors and venetoclax[1][2][3][4][5][7][8].
