ABBV-576 is an investigational small molecule drug developed by AbbVie as a cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulator. It acts as a C2 corrector, targeting mutations in the CFTR protein, particularly for patients with at least one F508del mutation. The drug was studied in combination with other CFTR modulators such as galicaftor and navocaftor to restore CFTR function more effectively than dual combinations alone. Clinical trials included adults with cystic fibrosis who were already on stable elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (Trikafta) treatment. Although initial results showed promise in restoring CFTR expression and function, development of ABBV-576 has been discontinued due to strategic considerations[1][2][6][8].
