Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABBV-722 is a lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1 (LPAR1) antagonist antibody being developed by AbbVie for the treatment of systemic sclerosis (SSc) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). LPAR1 is implicated in the pathology of fibrotic diseases, amplifying inflammation and fibrosis in tissues such as the lungs. Inhibition of LPAR1 may help address disease progression in SSc and IPF. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics after oral dosing in healthy adult participants.
