ABBV-8736 is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed by AbbVie as an anti-inflammatory agent targeting the Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid Cells 1 (TREM1). TREM1 is an immunoreceptor expressed on inflammatory myeloid cells (such as monocytes and neutrophils), acting as an amplifier of inflammatory responses, particularly in diseases like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). ABBV-8736 functions as a TREM1 inhibitor, modulating inflammatory pathways upstream of multiple cytokine axes. It is being evaluated primarily for IBD and is currently in phase 1 clinical studies in healthy volunteers, administered intravenously.
