Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ABC103** is an investigational, implantable drug-device combination product developed by AcuityBio for prevention of post-surgical lung cancer recurrence. It integrates paclitaxel into a drug-eluting polymer-coated surgical staple-line buttress, designed to provide localized and sustained chemotherapy at the pulmonary resection margin where residual microscopic tumor cells may remain. Cook Biotech collaborated on incorporation of its extracellular matrix technology. ABC103 received US FDA orphan drug designation for this prevention indication; Phase I testing was planned for late 2019, but a registered clinical trial was not identified.
