ABCC1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and knock down the expression of the ABCC1 (ATP-binding cassette sub-family C member 1) gene, which encodes the multidrug resistance-associated protein 1 (MRP1). MRP1 is an efflux transporter that plays a critical role in mediating multidrug resistance in various cancers by pumping chemotherapeutic agents out of cells. By silencing ABCC1 expression, ABCC1 siRNA reduces MRP1 protein levels, thereby inhibiting drug efflux and restoring sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents such as doxorubicin and vincristine in drug-resistant cancer cells. It is primarily utilized as a research-use-only laboratory tool to study multidrug resistance mechanisms and explore potential therapeutic strategies to overcome chemoresistance.
