Overview

ABF-101 and ABF-103 are small molecule inhibitors of NADPH oxidase (NOX) enzymes developed by Aptabio Therapeutics for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wet-AMD). These compounds are designed to modulate oxidative stress, a key driver in the pathogenesis of retinal diseases and pathological angiogenesis. ABF-101 is formulated for oral administration, whereas ABF-103 is developed as a topical eye drop. By inhibiting NOX enzymes, which are primary sources of reactive oxygen species (ROS), these therapeutic candidates aim to reduce oxidative damage and neovascularization in the eye. Both programs are currently in preclinical development.
