ABG+ is a proprietary aged black garlic extract developed as a dietary supplement, primarily for cardiovascular health. The product is derived from whole raw garlic bulbs (Allium sativum) that are aged under controlled conditions to enhance the accumulation of bioactive antioxidant compounds, especially S-allyl cysteine (SAC), polyphenols, flavonoids, and melanoidins. This aging process increases the stability and bioavailability of these compounds compared to fresh garlic. Clinical studies have shown that supplementation with aged black garlic extracts like ABG10+ (a closely related or possibly identical product) can help reduce blood pressure in patients with grade-1 hypertension who are already on antihypertensive medication. The proposed mechanisms include increased nitric oxide production (vasorelaxation), reduced angiotensin-converting enzyme activity, enhanced antioxidant capacity, and lower uric acid levels[4][5].
