Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AbGn-7 is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets a Lewis-A-like carbohydrate antigen (referred to as the AbGn-7 antigen) expressed on certain gastrointestinal cancer cells, including colorectal cancer. It has demonstrated immunomodulating and antineoplastic activities in preclinical studies, triggering apoptosis in colon cancer cells via a caspase-independent pathway and eliciting complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). The antibody was developed for potential use in treating colorectal cancer and other gastrointestinal malignancies. Its development was led by AbGenomics International[2][4].
