Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Abhayarishtam is a traditional Ayurvedic fermented liquid formulation primarily used for the treatment of hemorrhoids, constipation, and digestive disorders. Developed and manufactured by Chaithanya Herbals, it is prepared through the fermentation of various herbal ingredients, with *Terminalia chebula* (Haritaki) serving as the principal component. The formulation acts as a mild laxative (Virechana), carminative, and appetizer, helping to improve bowel movements and reduce the pressure on hemorrhoidal veins. It is also indicated for flatulence, abdominal distension, and hepatomegaly. As an Arishta, it contains self-generated alcohol (typically 5-10%) which acts as a medium for the extraction of active phytochemicals and serves as a natural preservative.
