Overview

Abidol is an antiviral drug that has been investigated for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). It has been studied in various clinical settings, including prospective/retrospective randomized controlled clinical studies and retrospective cohort studies, to evaluate its efficacy and safety in patients with COVID-19. While some studies suggest a potential role in reducing in-hospital mortality and shortening viral shedding duration, others indicate no superior efficacy compared to other antiviral drugs. Gastrointestinal side effects and an increase in bilirubin have been noted as potential adverse reactions.
