Abilar Wound Balm

Abilar Wound Balm is a topical resin-based medical device developed by Repolar Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of infected and non-infected wounds. Its active ingredient is refined resin from Norway spruce (*Picea abies*), collected from Finnish Lapland and formulated at a 10% concentration in a petrolatum-based salve. The product works through multiple mechanisms: it creates a physical protective barrier against bacteria and yeasts that cause skin infections, provides intrinsic antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects, and promotes wound healing by maintaining an optimal moist wound environment. It is indicated for both acute and chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers, surgical wound complications, burns, lacerations, abrasions, and fissures. Abilar is classified as a CE-marked Class IIb medical device and is approved for both professional healthcare and home use.
