Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Abiomend-XPlus is an advanced human cellular and tissue-based product (HCT/P) developed and distributed by Halo Biologics. It is composed of dehydrated human amniotic membrane (dHAM) and is specifically engineered for use as a biological scaffold in wound care and surgical applications. The XPlus designation refers to a multi-layered configuration that provides enhanced structural integrity and a higher concentration of endogenous regenerative components compared to standard single-layer membranes. Abiomend-XPlus functions by providing a natural extracellular matrix (ECM) that facilitates cellular migration, adhesion, and proliferation. It also serves as a reservoir for essential growth factors, cytokines, and proteins that help modulate the inflammatory response and promote accelerated tissue repair. It is primarily utilized in the management of chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers, as well as in orthopedic, spinal, and plastic reconstructive surgeries.
