Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Abisave-M is a fixed-dose combination oral tablet developed and marketed by Cam Neuro Pharma in India. It contains two active ingredients: acebrophylline (200 mg) and montelukast (10 mg). Montelukast is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist that targets the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CysLT1), effectively reducing airway inflammation and bronchoconstriction. Acebrophylline is a multi-mechanistic agent that functions as a bronchodilator, mucolytic, and anti-inflammatory; it works by inhibiting phosphodiesterase and phospholipase A2, which helps relax airway muscles and decrease mucus viscosity. The product is typically formulated as a sustained-release tablet and is indicated for the symptomatic management of chronic respiratory conditions including asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchitis.
