Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Abizol is a branded version of aripiprazole, an atypical antipsychotic small molecule developed and marketed by Nobel Pharmaceuticals. It acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors, while functioning as an antagonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. This pharmacological profile allows it to modulate dopaminergic and serotonergic activity, making it effective for treating psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia and manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder. Abizol is available in multiple oral strengths and an orally disintegrating tablet formulation known as Abizol EasyTab.
