Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABN102 is a recombinant interferon-beta (IFN-beta) mutein engineered for enhanced stability and improved biophysical properties compared to wild-type IFN-beta. Developed by Abion, it functions as a Type I interferon receptor agonist, promoting anti-tumor activity through direct induction of apoptosis in cancer cells and the activation of immune cell-mediated responses. ABN102 is utilized both as a standalone therapeutic candidate and as the cytokine moiety in antibody-cytokine fusion proteins, such as ABN202 (an anti-Trop2 immunocytokine). Preclinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in inhibiting tumor growth and activating anti-cancer immune responses, particularly in Trop-2-positive urothelial cancer models.
