Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABO-CoV.617.2 is an mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by Abogen Bioscience (Suzhou Abogen Biosciences) specifically targeting the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant (B.1.617.2). The vaccine utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology to deliver messenger RNA encoding the spike protein of the Delta variant. Upon administration, the host's cells translate the mRNA into the viral spike protein, which then triggers a robust immune response, including the production of neutralizing antibodies and the activation of T-cells. This candidate has been evaluated in clinical trials, including a Phase 1 study in Indonesia, to assess its safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in individuals who have not previously received a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.
